About Kristen Wold, lmft

Ready for deep transformation?

I’m a Connecticut-based therapist who specializes EMDR Intensives for women ready to transform from old patterns to new ways of being in the world.

let me be the first to tell you:

Change is possible.

My career began in the Corporate Finance department of a brokerage firm. Initially, I thrived on the challenges and rose the corporate ladder. However, over time, I found myself feeling unfulfilled and depressed. I eventually made the difficult decision to step away, unsure of what would come next but knowing I needed time to focus on my well-being.

As a way to manage my stress, I began a yoga practice, and after leaving my job, I found myself spending more time at the yoga studio. What started as a work study job transitioned into a Studio Manager and quickly became a lifeline during this period of uncertainty. Over the next six years, I embarked on a deeply transformative journey—one of self-discovery, healing, and figuring out what I truly wanted from life.

During this time, I also engaged in therapy and experienced the transformative effects of EMDR firsthand.

This powerful work began to reveal my future path. I realized I had always been passionate about understanding human behavior, especially my own. I started exploring careers in the counseling field, and what truly resonated with me was Marriage and Family Therapy, particularly how our childhood experiences shape us.

I returned to grad school in 2010, a few weeks before my 40th birthday. I graduated in 2013 and in 2014, I became trained in EMDR after experiencing how dramatically it changed my life. I knew then that I wanted to bring this same healing to other women.

My own journey—from corporate life to holistic healing to therapy—has taught me that transformation is possible for everyone. I believe that healing happens when we connect with all parts of ourselves—mind, body, and spirit.

How I work

Therapy is collaborative.

We work together to identify goals for your intensive session. I share my knowledge and experience but you know you. We work together to identify the most efficient and effective path toward healing.

My goal is to create an environment where you feel accepted and understood without fear of judgment or criticism. Curiosity allows us to explore recurring patterns, triggers, and reactions, leading to increased self-awareness and insight.

I recognize the importance of honoring your unique journey and ensuring that therapy progresses at a pace that feels comfortable and safe for you.

We are a good fit if —

  • You understand that somehow your past is impacting your present.

  • Are currently or have been in therapy and found it helpful.

  • Ready to invest in your healing.

We are not a good fit if —

  • You have never been in therapy.

  • Are looking for weekly therapeutic support.

  • You do not feel ready to address issues from your past.

Therapy with me is —

  • We will identify the target experiences from your past and set a course for working through to resolution.

  • We look at your unique experiences and how they impacted you in the past and present.

  • I believe in the power of transformation and support all my clients in achieving their goals.

  • My goal is for you to be living the life you desire. I believe therapy is not meant to last forever.
